A number of years back when I started doing this, we were cleaning WVO in the workshop. I left the centrifuge running overnight to clean the oil in a gravity setup. During the night, we lost power and the motor on the centrifuge shut off and did not turn back on. The oil did not stop though! It was a manual ball valve, so it overflowed the centrifuge and got all over the shop floor. What a mess I found in the morning!

Ever since then, I started using an electric valve for safety. I encourage all my customers to use one so the same mistake doesn’t happen to them! That electric valve is included in the Gravity FailSafe Hose Kit. It costs $332, but can save hours of cleaning and heartache! This kit includes the safety valve, all the oil-rated hoses; fittings to connect the centrifuge to a barrel or IBC tote; an aluminum rated for waste oil; and a P-Trap & Chimney vent to pull moisture out of your oil and dewater it.
